We have spent the week hiking, shopping, lying in bed and enjoying Sweden’s music.

On Monday, we decided to hike up to the “saddle” (here it is).
It doesn’t look like that big a deal, but the latter third of the hike was pretty strenuous...more because of all the larger rocks, and of course it’s up hill all the way.
A couple of views from the top.
A look over Apache Junction. It was very cloudy (threatening rain) and a low cloud was hanging over the town.
Gerard was not feeling great later on Monday, and Tuesday he was down (lying in bed) pretty much all day — cold and flu. It has been going around the park here and there, so he must have picked it up somewhere here. I didn’t take any pictures of him (he appreciates that). I went out for a hike by myself, just around the desert nearby.
On Wednesday, he felt well enough to get out for a bit of an easy hike, so we did that.
Thursday, I went to Mesa to do some shopping, and to pick up some Pisco (California, here we come!). Well, I didn’t buy anything. I hate shopping. But I did find the Pisco. Not every place has it, but Total Wine certainly does - several different kinds. Success!
Today we went out for a bit of a hike again. Gerard is feeling much better now.
And tonight, we went to the AbbaFab show held here at the Resort. A great tribute band who did a really good job and played all their hits. Here they are.
During one song, they turned up the house lights and “Bjorn” went through the audience. Here he is. And I got a selfie with him (I was red-faced...it was hot in there!).
I have a little video clip of them singing Waterloo, but I don’t know how to get it into this &$*#&$* app.
Anyway, great fun.
The hike up to that saddle looks cool. Pretty much any broad col between two peaks can be called a saddle. They're nice because you get a nice view without the risk and extra effort of trying to get to a summit. Looks like you got a great view up there.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Dad was feeling better after a day or two. It's definitely cold/flu season. Also glad that only one of you got it.
